Tesla to launch 4 new batteries in 2026
Tesla’s 4680 battery, introduced four years ago, offers significant improvements over its predecessor, the 2170. The energy capacity of this battery has been increased five times and the power output six times. However, as with every innovation, this technology was not easy to implement.
Tesla’s $25,000 affordable electric vehicle was constantly delayed and eventually completely suspended due to setbacks in the development of the 4680 battery. In fact, Musk is said to have run out of patience during this process and pressured his team to find a solution by the end of the year.
Still, the company has not given up. Last September, they announced the production of the 1 billionth 4680 battery. They have managed to increase the production rate and have made significant strides in reducing costs. As a result, Tesla’s new batteries will play a key role in the success of the company’s future vehicle models.
In particular, the realization of projects like Robotaxi could be a big step not only for Tesla but also for the automotive world. What do you think about this? You can write your opinions in the comments section below.
